The exciting luxury SUVs on the roads of Houston, Sugar Land, and Missouri City don't have to pass by your current car anymore with you saying, I wish I had a luxury SUV. Now, you can have one, and the team at Momentum BMW is here to help make that happen.

We're comparing the 2020 BMW X5 vs. Lexus RX to take a closer look at two of the top luxury SUVs on the road today. We compare the important specs and features you need to know, so you'll be a more informed driver after reading this comprehensive comparison.

X5 vs RX Performance

The powerful V6 engine under the hood of the BMW X5 can provide the thrilling performance you're looking for from a luxury SUV. This 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine has the V6 power you're looking for. The moment you press down on the accelerator, you'll know you're behind the wheel of an SUV that's ready for the road ahead. This engine produces 335 horsepower, but when the rumble of the engine goes silent, the Auto Start-Stop technology saves fuel as you idle at a stoplight.

There's also a V6 engine under the hood of the Lexus RX. While it is powerful, it can't quite match up to the BMW X5-it only delivers 295 horsepower, well off the pace of the competition.

You might think since the RX has less power than the X5 it would be a better option fuel-wise. That's not the case, though, because the BMW X5 offers a better EPA-estimated city MPG than the RX.

BMW X5 vs Lexus RX Interior

The X5 interior welcomes you from the moment you sit in the driver's seat. In fact, the 16-way power front sport seats include power side bolsters and lumbar support, so whether your drive is long or short, you're ready for anything. The memory system for the driver's seat and steering wheel comes in handy if you want to recall the settings you had before you turned the wheel over to a family member or friend.

There are ways to customize your Lexus RX, but the 10-way power front seats can't provide the same level of customization as the 2020 X5.

Leather-like material comes standard in both models, but if you prefer the real thing, you can find it in both the X5 and the RX.

The X5 also comes standard with a panoramic moonroof that opens up to both riders seated in the front and in the back. The fresh air and sunshine will come pouring in. While you can have a panoramic moonroof in the Lexus RX, it's not standard as it is in the X5.

BMW X5 vs Lexus RX Tech Features

Inside the BMW X5, the Live Cockpit Professional functionality comes with a pair of 12.3-inch display screens. This is standard in your luxury SUV since the multi-input iDrive 7.0 system joins these screens and is powered by voice, the screen itself, or the touchpad Controller. With the flexibility to control the system the way you want, you'll always have access to important information right on the screen in the center stack.

The single 12.3-inch navigation screen in the Lexus RX does not come standard as it does in the BMW X5. It will provide access to audio and climate controls along with other systems, but you'll have to make an upgrade to get it.
