The 2017 X5 has four engine options, ranging from the exceptionally fuel-efficient xDrive40e to the very powerful xDrive50i. The base X5 comes with very capable 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 that puts out 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. At the high-end, the xDrive50i features a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 that delivers 445 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque and still manages EPA-rated 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.
