BMW is going to enter the large SUV game and compete with Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga for the title of ultimate luxury and performance. The new 2018 BMW X7 is set to become the perfect luxury family SUV with a third row that will seat up to seven passengers. The 2018 X7 is expected to join the BMW lineup in early 2018.

BMW marketing director Ian Robertson at the New York Motor Show stated "There’s very little resemblance to the X5, so it’s not an extended wheelbase X5. It’s very different – we wanted it to have its own identity."

While many details about the new 2018 BMW X7 are being kept under lock and key, we assume the X7 will offer a variety of powerful engine options to choose from. Similar to the X5, the standard engine could be a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-6 paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with around 300 horsepower. The more powerful engine option that is may be possibly featured on the BMW X7 is a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V-8 that pumps out 445-horsepower.

There is still a long time between now and early 2018 but we will make sure to keep you informed with more information and specks about the highly anticipated 2018 BMW X7.
