The 2017 BMW 530i is all-new for 2017, part of an overall upgrade for the Bavarian automaker's luxury midsize sedan. CNET Roadshow editor recently spent some time behind the wheel of the 5301, and reports that the legend endures.
The new BMW 5 Series has a range of engine options. The base 530i comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Gas mileage is quite good - EPA-rated fuel economy for the 530i is 24 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive. BMW's all-wheel drive system, known as xDrive, is available across the 5 Series.
